You must hold a current, valid provisional/full driving licence or valid international driving licence. You must be fit to drive with regard to legal and medical requirements.
You must be able to read a number plate from a randomly chosen vehicle at a distance of 20.5 metres, with glasses if you need them.
Tuition fees are normally payable at least one lesson in advance. Payment can be made by cash or cheques. Any cheques offered for payment that are subsequently refused by the bank will be subject to an administration charge of £25.00.
If you need to cancel or re-arrange lessons 48 hours notice will be required. Failure to give notice will result in a cancellation fee being charged which would be the cost of the lesson. However, if we believe the cancellation to have been unavoidable we may, at our sole discretion, waive the cancellation fee.
If you decide for any reason to stop taking driving lessons from us we guarantee (subject to the Cancellations clause above) to return your advance payment promptly and with no questions asked. Payment will normally be made by cheque posted to your registered address within 24 hours.
We will do everything possible to ensure that your lessons start and finish on time, but we reserve the right to cancel, postpone or change lesson lengths and start/finish times under certain circumstances (e.g. dangerous weather conditions, car broken down).
We reserve the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if it is suspected that the pupil may be unfit due to the effects of alcohol, drugs (prescribed or otherwise) or any other condition that would cause his/her driving to be dangerous or illegal. In such circumstances the lesson fee will be payable.
Tuition fees must be paid in advance of the course starting. Payment can be made by cash or cheques. Any cheques offered for payment that are subsequently refused by the bank will be subject to an administration charge of £25.00. Once a course has been paid for it cannot be cancelled or re-arranged.
All sessions will start and finish at the same location unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. We will determine a location for practical lessons which ensures both pupil's and public safety this means that we may need to drive you to and from the lesson location; this journey time forms part of the lesson as paid for.
The minimum lesson period is one hour. If for any reason, we are late for the lesson the lesson will be extended by the time due. If this is not possible the extra time will be carried forward to the next suitable lesson.
We will endeavour to maintain regular lesson slots at the same time each week to ensure continuity of learning, however, this cannot be guaranteed.
The price of lessons which have not been pre-paid as part of a block booking may be changed at any time. You will always receive prior notice of such changes.
The cost of prepaid tuition is based on the lesson price in force at time of booking and will be honoured for 12 months thereafter irrespective of any price increase that may occur between the date of booking and when the lessons are taken. Any unused lessons remaining after 12 months have elapsed shall have any lesson price increase applied.
Training vehicles provided by the school are taxed, insured for the purposes of driving tuition, fully roadworthy and fitted with dual controls.
We reserve the right to refuse use of a driving school vehicle for test if we consider that provision of a vehicle could cause a risk to public safety.
Where a school car is used for test, there is a charge of £50. This includes the use of our car for the test, and returning you to your point of departure.
While we will make every effort to ensure that the vehicle supplied for test is fully road worthy and complies with all legal requirements at the start of the test, we cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during the test and we are not liable for consequential loss.
We cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff shortages or other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond our control and therefore the lesson fee and "use of car" fee for the booked period will be charged. We will advise about claming compensation from the DSA.
